In radio you have two tools. Sound and Silence. – Ira Glass
I have worked in public radio news for most of my 20 year career in Journalism. I love the medium because of its complexity, unpredictability, versatility and intimacy. I have worked as a field radio news reporter, writer, news reader, voice artists, sound editor and mixer, producer and host/presenter.
For the past two years I have been privileged to run Sound Africa, a non-profit podcasting organization with a mission to tell African stories which advance social justice and elevate the voices of everyday people. Learn more about Sound Africa here.
Think African examines the big questions that define the world from an unapologetically African point of view. It is platform on which African thinkers can critically engage with contentious, fraught and messy conversations, and grapple with the complexities of the continent’s history and present.
